 Diabetes Christchurch is one of the local
societies of Diabetes New Zealand based in Canterbury. Open from 9am to
4.00pm each day of the
working week they employ two part-time staff, secretary, Janice High and
assistant, Lee McKelvie and have numerous volunteer helpers.
With
over 1250 members in the society, the committee meet each month to
organise awareness events, rotary and market day sales, opening
meetings, help support groups, youth and other associated community
groups and organisations. If you would like to become a member of our

 Barnaby
Bee, associated Barnaby Bee merchandise and products for
people with diabetes including various blood glucose meters, finger
prickers, accessories and batteries are available from this shop.
Insulin pens, insulin carry pouches, needles, syringes, foot products, Jok 'n'
Al jams,
chutneys and sauces, Double R diet drinks, volunteers' knitting,
scarves, sugarfree sweets, socks, bedsocks and much, much
more. Diabetes Christchurch also has monthly support groups and weekly
armchair exercise and walk groups
which you
may wish to attend, as well as a large variety of information leaflets and brochures,
recipe books and education material available.
